Kubota Wastewater Bringing Kubota Wastewater to New Zealand: Our Partnership with True Water
A Gradient Drainage is now the New Zealand distributor for Kubota wastewater systems, working under True Water — the Kubota distributor for Australia and the Pacific — to deliver these systems right across the country. This post explains who the partners are and how they fit together.

Where it started
A lot of our work has been on difficult sites in the Hauraki Gulf — steep, rocky, water-sensitive island blocks. Sites like that call for wastewater systems that are lightweight, high quality and compact enough to work across the full range of challenges the islands throw up. Kubota tanks fit that brief exactly: off-the-shelf products that can be installed on the most difficult of sites while producing high-quality treatment for sensitive areas. Over time, that’s what drew us to Kubota.
Who True Water is
Getting Kubota technology onto a lifestyle block or a commercial development in New Zealand takes more than a good product. It takes a supply chain, engineering knowledge, and people who understand how these systems behave in Pacific conditions. That’s the role True Water plays.
True Water is the exclusive supplier of Kubota Johkasou sewage treatment plants throughout Australia and the Pacific. They design, engineer and support wastewater solutions across the region, from single homes to resorts and community-scale schemes. Working alongside them means the full Kubota range can be offered in New Zealand, backed by regional engineering experience and genuine parts.
A local team you can call, and behind it, a distributor and manufacturer with a long track record across the region.
How the two sides fit together
The structure is straightforward. True Water remains the distributor for Australia and the Pacific, bringing the Kubota product itself along with engineering support and a supply relationship that reaches back to Kubota’s factories in Japan. A Gradient Drainage sits under True Water as the New Zealand distributor, responsible for getting these systems out to properties across the country.
To do that nationwide, we’re building a network of trusted installers across New Zealand to put the tanks in the ground, so the same Kubota system can be delivered whether you’re in the Hauraki Gulf, the Far North or the deep south. And the range covers a lot of ground: from small single-bedroom dwellings right through to large commercial and community projects. Whatever the scale of the project, A Gradient Drainage can help match and deliver the right Kubota system for it.
