The capacity most packaged plants can't reach

Most packaged treatment systems in New Zealand top out at small-to-mid commercial scale. Above that, projects usually jump to bespoke, built-on-site engineered plants. These are slower to deliver, more expensive, and far larger in footprint.

The Kubota commercial range closes that gap. It scales from small commercial loads right up to 1 ML/day while staying packaged, modular, and quick to install. At the top end, its membrane systems deliver Class A reuse-quality water suited to the most sensitive sites.

The Kubota commercial range

Every system uses the same proven Kubota technology a robust biological process, lightweight fibre-reinforced construction with a 50-plus year engineered life, quiet and odourless operation, low running costs, internal buffer storage, and remote monitoring. They're grouped by the level of treatment they deliver, and all are modular, so you can stage capacity as a project grows.

MBBR Biological

(Kubota HC-Z and K-HC-R) High-quality biological treatment using Kubota's Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor process. It's the workhorse of the range. The compact HC-Z suits smaller commercial loads from around 5,000 litres a day; the K-HC-R scales up for medium-to-large applications, with extra modules added as demand grows. Handles shock loads and peak flows well.

Best for: service stations, cafés and restaurants, lodges and venues, holiday parks, aged care, subdivisions, community projects

Indicative scale: from ~5 m³/day, modular to large

 

MBBR Biological: Nutrient Reduction

(Kubota K-HC-T) The same robust process with high-level nutrient removal added, for sites with strict discharge limits. This is the system of choice where a conventional plant won't meet a regulator's environmental conditions — while staying quiet, odourless, and easy to maintain.

Best for: environmentally sensitive sites, nutrient-limited catchments, coastal and waterway-adjacent projects

Indicative scale: medium to large, modular

 

MBR Membrane

(Kubota KM-SG-NP / Submerged Membrane Unit) Kubota's most advanced treatment: a Membrane BioReactor producing the highest treated-water quality with nutrient removal — clean enough for reuse and the most sensitive applications. It uses the same membrane technology found in the world's largest centralised treatment plants. 

  • Best for: water reuse and irrigation, premium developments, the most sensitive or constrained sites

  • Indicative scale: medium to large, modular to 1 ML/day

 

Effluent dispersal & land application

Treatment is only half the system. The treated water still has to go somewhere. We design the land application or dispersal area (drip irrigation, mounds, sub-surface) to suit your site, soil, and consent conditions.
